A need for high
quality vegetable transplants was the catalyst for the start of Rohrs Bros.
Greenhouse in 1991. Our farming
operation saw the benefit of northern grown transplants that had been acclimated to
the climate they would be growing in. Excellent
stands, early vigor, and the ability to hold plants during inclement weather were
other benefits that were realized. The first
greenhouse that was erected was 30’ X 150’.
The next year this house was expanded followed by another house beside it. Contracts for growers throughout the Midwest
have spurred further expansion to the present day of multiple acres under
plastic. |
